Khenshu: Merging Traditional Art With Modern Luxury

FDT Bureau

In the dynamic world of furniture design, Aishwarya Reddy, Founder and CEO of Khenshu, is redefining craftsmanship with a unique approach— creating furniture in India for the world. By blending traditional artisanal techniques with modern design sensibilities, Kenshu celebrates the rich heritage of Indian craftsmanship while catering to contemporary tastes. Under Aishwarya’s leadership, Kenshu has carved a niche for itself by offering furniture that is not just aesthetically appealing but also sustainable, exclusive, and timeless.

BLENDING INDIAN CRAFTSMANSHIP WITH INTERNATIONAL CHARM.
Khenshu focuses on creating furniture that seamlessly marries Indian artistry with global appeal. “We work with various artisans across India to uplift their art while giving it a modern outlook,” says Aishwarya. Khenshu’s mission involves introducing modern practices, tools, and techniques to ensure their products are up-to-date without compromising on craftsmanship.

THE LATEST LAUNCH: MONOCHROME COLLECTION
Khenshu’s latest launch, the Monochrome Collection, is a celebration of traditional inlay art infused with modern design. Aishwarya highlights, “It’s the first time we’ve introduced modern lines and structures in the inlay art itself. One of our standout pieces is the Pure on the Piano Chair, made with the traditional inlay art seen in Rajasthan and across India. While the technique originated in Morocco, we’ve given it a contemporary flair.” Describing the piece as “quirky and fun,” Aishwarya believes it’s perfect for art collectors or homes that desire a blend of tradition and modernity.

"WE’RE NO LESS THAN ANY INTERNATIONAL BRAND WHEN IT COMES TO FINISH AND QUALITY. KHENSHU PRIDES ITSELF ON EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND WE’RE ALWAYS AVAILABLE TO HELP AND ANSWER ANY QUERIES."

A UNIQUE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
Khenshu’s experience centre offers more than just a showcase of exquisite furniture—it invites visitors to participate in the design process. “When visitors walk in, they can see the exceptional quality of craftsmanship our pieces offer. What sets us apart is the ability for clients to sit with our designers and co-create custom products for their spaces,” explains Aishwarya. This personalized approach ensures each Khenshu product reflects the client’s unique story and personality.

LUXURY THAT LASTS GENERATIONS
At Khenshu, luxury is about more than just aesthetics—it’s about creating something that lasts a lifetime. “Luxury to us means exclusivity, customization, and timelessness. We design furniture that can be passed down from generation to generation,” Aishwarya says passionately. Rejecting the concept of “fast furniture,” Khenshu focuses on sustainable, long lasting pieces. “We’re working to ensure our furniture doesn’t end up in landfills. Instead, it’s something families can cherish over the years.”

PERSONAL AND PREMIUM EXPERIENCES
Every visitor at Khenshu receives a personal and premium experience. “We offer free design consultations where clients can share their needs, ideas, and design sensibilities. At the end of the day, the furniture going into their homes is personal and has to bring good energy into their spaces,” Aishwarya explains. This focus on customization makes each Khenshu piece unique, with the design process as enriching as the final product.

KHENSHU’S BIGGEST MARKETS
With a growing presence in India’s metropolitan cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Bangalore, Khenshu is also making waves internationally. “We’re seeing a strong demand for handcrafted, artisanal furniture abroad. International clients appreciate the effort and artistry behind each piece,” shares Aishwarya. Interestingly, tier-two cities in India are also embracing luxury furniture, showing a growing appetite for exclusivity and premium designs.

TRENDS IN BANGALORE’S LUXURY MARKET
According to Aishwarya, Bangalore’s luxury furniture market is driven by clients seeking personal stories and sustainability. “Many of our clients are well-traveled and aware of global trends. They know what’s happening internationally and want pieces that reflect their personalities,” she notes. Sustainability, too, plays a significant role as customers increasingly seek eco- conscious choices without compromising on quality.

HOW TO REACH KHENSHU
Potential clients can easily reach Khenshu through multiple platforms. “We’re available on Instagram, and our contact details are up on Google. Clients can visit our website, which also serves as an e-commerce platform, or book an appointment to come to our experience centre,” Aishwarya adds. She emphasizes Khenshu’s commitment to hospitality, welcoming clients for personal consultations over coffee to explore designs and ideas.

A MESSAGE TO POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS
“At Khenshu, we believe in authenticity and making pieces that last a lifetime,” Aishwarya says, urging customers to visit and explore their collection. “We’re no less than any international brand when it comes to finish and quality. Khenshu prides itself on excellent customer service, and we’re always available to help and answer any queries.” She adds, “We’re excited to see the young Indian crowd witness a brand that’s truly made in India for the world.”

VIEWS ON FURNITURE DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY (FDT) MAGAZINE
Aishwarya acknowledges the role of industry publications in shaping design trends. “We refer to FURNITURE DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY (FDT) magazine for multiple finishes when working on various projects. It’s a growing magazine that our team follows for industry insights and updates. You’ve been doing a great job so far, and congratulations on that!” Khenshu stands as a testament to the future of luxury furniture - where tradition meets modernity, sustainability meets longevity, and art meets innovation. With Aishwarya Reddy at the helm, the brand continues to redefine what it means to create furniture that resonates across generations and geographies.
