In this interview with FURNITURE DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY (FDT) Magazine Shruthi Reddy, Founder of Avenue Küche, discusses the brand’s journey, which began in 2021, after her return to India in 2019. With a passion for luxury kitchens, wardrobes, and appliances, Avenue Küche offers high-end, globally inspired designs, featuring brands like Leicht, Olivieri, and Sub-Zero. Shruthi reveals Avenue Küche’s approach to crafting functional, stylish spaces with tailored solutions, for HNI clients, and the exceptional services that set the brand apart in redefining luxury interiors in India.
HOW DID THE AVENUE KÜCHE STORY BEGIN?
Shruthi Reddy: Avenue Küche is a showroom specializing in luxury kitchens, wardrobes, and built-in appliances. We have been in the market for around four years, starting in 2021, just as the world was recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. However, my journey with these brands began earlier, in 2019, when I returned to India after spending five to six years in the United States.
During my time abroad, I developed a deep passion for luxury kitchens, wardrobes, and appliances. Witnessing innovative designs and cutting-edge architecture in the global market inspired me to introduce something unique and beautiful to my clients in India. The kitchen, being the heart of any home, has always been a focal point for me. Many clients come to us looking for something extraordinary, and as someone who personally loves cooking, this passion naturally translated into creating exceptional kitchen spaces. Even during my time in the U.S., I always valued having a functional and inviting kitchen space, especially when far from home. This belief forms the foundation of what we offer at Avenue Küche.

WHAT ARE THE KEY PRODUCT CATEGORIES THE BRAND FOCUSES ON?
Shruthi Reddy: At Avenue Küche we focus on three primary categories: kitchen cabinetry, built-in appliances, and wardrobes. Our goal is to provide the best products to our clients. For kitchens, we work with premium German brands like Leicht, known for their beautiful finishes and sustainable designs. For wardrobes, we collaborate with Olivieri, which is renowned for its excellent hardware and pre-assembled quality. We also have the largest displays of high-end appliance brands like Gaggenau, Sub-Zero, and Wolf in Bangalore.
HOW DO YOU APPROACH DESIGNING KITCHENS AND WARDROBES FOR CLIENTS?
Shruthi Reddy: So Leicht offers very beautiful aluminum finishes—it’s brushed aluminum. We have it in three colors: champagne, stainless steel, and a darker gray shade. These materials can be used in specific areas of the kitchen, particularly in our designs for the island, which serves as a highlight and statement piece. We pair these with contrasting cabinet colors.
We don’t offer standard designs or finishes like other regular kitchen options. Instead, we focus on unique color and finish combinations. For instance, we avoid basic finishes like laminates or plain glass. Our range includes stunning concrete finishes—actual concrete applied on engineered wood using a spatula technique. We also offer Corten steel and natural stone finishes, where the shutters feature natural stone without any wood backing.
Such beautiful products from Leicht are something I genuinely want my clients to experience. That’s why the kitchens we design, especially in line with current trends, aim to stand out and push boundaries.
As I mentioned, we don’t limit our clients to just one option. We present at least three to four design variants, offering them different concepts. We thoroughly understand our clients’ requirements, considering their daily routines, kitchen type (dry kitchen, wet kitchen, or single kitchen), desired appliances, the number of people in the household, and how often they cook. With all this information in mind, we begin the design phase. Once the designs are finalized, we present the options - typically three or four - in detailed 3D renderings for our clients.
Our designs stand out in the market for being user-friendly, convenient, and forward-thinking. Even 10 to 15 years from now, these designs will remain sustainable and relevant. Sustainability and innovation form the core of our design language, whether it’s for kitchens or wardrobes.
WHAT CAN CLIENTS EXPECT WHEN VISITING AVENUE’S SHOWROOM?
Shruthi Reddy: When they visit our showroom, or when I receive inquiries through calls, Google search engines, architects, walk-ins, or referrals, they truly enjoy the experience. The first thing they notice is our display and the quality of our cabinets, materials, finishes, and attention to detail. In addition, the appliances we showcase, including all the built-in kitchen appliances, are noteworthy. We are one of the showrooms in Bangalore with the largest and most comprehensive display of Gaggenau, Sub-Zero, and Wolf products.
When they come here, they can explore a variety of appliances, kitchen cabinetry, materials, and details, getting a real sense of what a German kitchen or Italian wardrobe looks and feels like. Moreover, we offer a live cooking experience for our customers. We have a chef who prepares a preset menu, providing a cooking demonstration. This allows customers to enjoy the product while also learning how to use these appliances effectively. It helps them assess whether these appliances suit their day-to-day lifestyle. This is how we work.
WHO ARE YOUR PRIMARY CLIENTS, AND HOW DO YOU TAILOR SOLUTIONS FOR THEM?
Shruthi Reddy: All our clients come from the HNI community and people who love a good design language - those who can truly appreciate a quality product. We’ve created some beautiful wardrobes and kitchens, and the people who have visited us have often come back to say, ‘The product is really good.’ We’ve received appreciation from many clients in that industry. We recently worked on a challenging project - it was a single, straight line, and we had to design it to feel like a kitchen with a living concept. It turned out to be a beautiful design. The house is 25,000 square feet, and we did wardrobes for the same client, who loved the final product. In fact, all of my clients, without exception, love the products. The trust they have in us and in Avenue Küche is what drives us to do our best.
For every client, we fine-tune their requirements and the luxury they are asking for. For example, some clients come to me requesting a lot of storage space, while others ask for a lot of crockery unit space. Some clients prefer a design that is neat and clean and don’t want too much storage. We have all kinds of clientele. As I mentioned earlier, we focus on highlighting our clients’ requirements and the kitchen or wardrobes they’re purchasing from us, using materials first, finishes second, and our unique design language third. The designs we create are exclusive to Avenue Küche - they are highly creative and artistic. Even after 20 years, clients will not get bored with the layout we’ve designed for them.
HOW CAN CLIENTS REACH AVENUE?
Shruthi Reddy: Clients can connect with us via Google, Instagram, our website, or directly visit our showroom on 19th Main, HSR Layout, Bangalore.
WHAT’S YOUR MESSAGE TO POTENTIAL CLIENTS?
Shruthi Reddy: I would say that right now, there are thousands of brands in the market. If I were a consumer, I wouldn’t have the time to visit all those brands. I would narrow down my search to the most essential options. So, when it comes to my requirements, I would look for a kitchen that is more durable, or a wardrobe that is more functional and user-friendly, with more storage space. The same applies to the kitchen. Another important factor is, who will provide better service? Service truly matters in any industry, and that’s where we excel. We’re always available for any calls or inquiries. Our product doesn’t require constant service, like frequent service calls. For appliances, kitchens, and wardrobes, once they are installed neatly, we visit every six months to check if there are any issues or requirements from our side. But beyond that, I would say it’s important to pick the right product. Why? Because this brand, especially Leicht, is from Germany. Every small screw, every piece of hardware, comes from there. We offer the best quality, and the result is something clients will truly love. Whatever they visualize here, we replicate it exactly in their homes. So, with Avenue Küche, Leicht, Olivieri, Gaggenau, Subzero and Wolf just trust us and the brands we carry. We provide great products and excellent service.
ANY WORDS FOR FDT MAGAZINE?
Shruthi Reddy: I think it’s a space where many designers, architects, and clients can find good products, especially in the architecture industry, where we have a vast catalog of options. You guys are doing a great job in identifying specific products and bringing them to the attention of clients and architects. Without you, it would probably be hard for people to learn about a brand like Avenue Küche or Leicht, especially anywhere in the country. You guys are spread out throughout India, and I think what you’re doing is really great. Thank you so much
