Industrial themed furniture is a rare thing to see. One such innovation is the Industrial Dining Table by The Furniture Republic, located at MG Road, Sultanpur, Delhi. The actual name of this dining table is ‘Electro Mechanical Dining Table.’ As found by Furniture Design & Technology (FDT), the Industrial Dining Table looks like a hub of machines related to heavy industry, which has many kind of engineering components, instruments and mechanism. Interestingly, this dining table can be used in many ways. This multi-purpose dining table can be used as a dining area in industrial sites, which can inspire professionals associated with engineering and designing background in many ways. Apart from this, it can also be used to lure customers in big hotels and restaurants.

"This table is made with combination of glass, wood, iron and stainless steel. There is a strong transparent glass on the top surface of the table. Just under the top frame of glass, the engineering theme has been designed brilliantly on industrial theme."

The Furniture Republic showroom is owned by a young woman entrepreneur, Ms. Anubha Gupta. The showroom has a wide and attractive range of modern and traditional furniture with a variety of artefacts apart from domestic and imported furniture. Apart from the industrial dining table, it also has industrial central tables and lighting based on the industrial theme. This Industrial Dining Table has many specialties which attract customers in this showroom. The biggest feature is its designing and look which makes it unique. This table is made with combination of glass, wood, iron and stainless steel. There is a strong transparent glass on the top surface of the table. Just under the top frame of glass, the engineering theme has been designed brilliantly on industrial theme. There are many such things including iron pipes, tube lights, pipe & sockets, pumps, controllers, measuring instruments, chambers etc. which give it the look of an industry. 

The tube lights in it can be switched on & off as per the requirement. When the tube light is on, it gives slow light, so that the feeling of candlelight dinner can be experienced by users while dining on the table in evening. The total weight of this table is around 50 kg which is supported by its heavy wooden legs. Ms. Neha Daniels, manager of the showroom, told FDT team that the table is being appreciated by all visitors of the showroom. This is also a kind of new arrival. Apart from people related to the industry, there is a good demand of this table among the furniture enthusiasts, designers and special category customers. This industrial table has been taken from an outside vendor by the showroom; its designing has also been prepared on special demand. Iron chairs and sofas can be used along with this table and the entire dining set looks charming and unique. Few months back, half a dozen of such dining tables were sourced by the showroom, out of which five tables have been sold. Each table was sold by the showroom at a price of around Rs. 1 lac.
