Natural Stones - Hot Trend in Furniture Design

Raw, rustic and ecological, stone has a natural charm to it. When used in furniture, it lends a sophisticated and alluring vibe to the interiors. Natural Stones like granite, quartz, and marble are commonly used in furniture now Interior and furniture designers are experimenting with stone varieties such as limestone, liquid granite, and even concrete to create elegant and one-of-a-kind furniture pieces.

Concrete: “Concrete, a commonly used material in the construction world is now being explored in furniture. Marble: The application of marble into furniture has made itextremely popular among modern buyers. Marble in finishes like satin and super matte are seen on table tops, says Shami Goregaoker. “Traditional Indian craft techniques of inlay with semi-precious stones are currently being explored as table tops, wall panels etc. We have very recently used ahigh-end Lapiz Lazuli marble, as a dining table top which is luxury personified, “shares Khushboo Khandelwal.

Glass: “The use of glass with various textures is also trending in the interiors, especially the use of ribbed glass which create beautiful silhouettes when used in doors or screens, shares Khushboo adds.
