One of the leading Belgian furniture brand, Extremis recently introduced a versatile modular outdoor dining system crafted to offer comfortable seating options for gatherings of all sizes. Conceived by Extremis founder Dirk Wynants, the Panigiri dining system revolves around a central long table with customizable seating arrangements. Know more about it on FURNITURE DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY (FDT).
Users have the option to choose between attached bench seating or open space for chairs, ensuring flexibility and convenience. The Panigiri benches feature a thoughtful design with divided segments, allowing easy access to each seating spot without the need for awkward maneuvering. For enhanced comfort, the optional Bring Your Own Seat (BYOS) attachment provides additional support and a backrest, resembling a traditional chair experience. Crafted from durable steel and ash wood, Panigiri prioritizes longevity while minimizing environmental impact by incorporating surplus wood from other collections.
Inspired by the Greek words pan and giri, meaning all and gathering respectively, Panigiri is tailored to facilitate communal dining experiences, available in customizable lengths to accommodate any group size. The Panigiri lineup comprises three variations: Panigiri Picnic, offering bench seating akin to a picnic table setup; Panigiri Table, designed without built-in seating for use with supplementary chairs; and Panigiri Combo, seamlessly combining features from both formats.
