Swedish furniture giant Ikea has collaborated with Woodgreen Pets Charity to introduce its inaugural product line tailored for pets, featuring rattan beds and decorative soft toys. This collection, named Utsadd, comprises 29 items designed around the primary activities of cats and dogs at home, such as eating, sleeping, playing and hiding. According to Ikea, the aim was to create a range that pets would love and that their owners would appreciate integrating into their homes. Know more about it on FURNITURE DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY (FDT).
The product range is showcased in two specialized catalogues, the Cat-alogue and the Dog-alogue, which feature various items like beds, scratching posts, blankets, bowls and toys, each depicted with animals from Woodgreen’s rehoming centre. Highlights from the Cat-alogue include a rattan cat bed with a pitched roof and a raised cat house adorned with a patterned cushion. The Dog-alogue presents an assortment of soft toys, including bone-shaped and patterned options, alongside a rattan dog bed.
As part of the initiative, all furniture featured in these catalogues has been donated to Woodgreen Pets Charity. The Utsadd collection’s launch is part of a broader effort to support Woodgreen Pets Charity, which has seen a 62 per cent increase in abandoned pets at its rehoming centre in 2023. Ikea’s collaboration with Woodgreen is intended to raise awareness about pet adoption and provide practical and stylish solutions for pet owners to enhance their living spaces for their furry friends.
