India has all kinds of consumers. While masses are yet to understand furniture in terms of functionality, space saving and use as per indoor and outdoor requirements, there is a niche top segment (among the elite living in metros and the cash rich upper class of tier-II cities) which looks straight to the global hubs for inspiration and buying. This is a recent development among this class which is slowly cascading to other layers. FDT can see that more Indian terraces are going to be laid down with beautiful outdoor furniture; more of the beauties will be visible in hospitality segment with extended garden areas.
The outdoor has become an extension of living indoors. Seats, sofas, vases, furniture and lights are increasingly more attractive and sophisticated, which is thanks to the fact that aluminum structures and high quality polyethylene are being combined with concrete, metal, wood, and fabrics. The variety that we are seeing today for outdoors were at one time only seen in prestigious homes, hotels, spas, pool and luxury terraces.
Furniture Design India and the magazine FURNITURE DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY (FDT magazine) are from the trusted 22-year-old media house of SURFACES REPORTER and PLY REPORTER.
FDT is a B2B monthly bilingual magazine from India that shares the pulse of the furniture business in India and connects the manufacturers, OEMS, product designers, architects, showrooms, designers and dealers.
