A fire broke out in Mumbai’s Jogeshwari-Oshiwara furniture market in a furniture godown today morning. According to the fire brigade officials, the blaze erupted after 11am in the Ghas Compound, which is located on the Relief road in Jogeshwari West.
Nearly 12 fire engines, six jumbo tankers, ambulances and senior fire brigade officials had been rushed to the spot. The fire reportedly spread to over 150 wooden furniture shops. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties have been reported so far. Reportedly, the fire has been confined to the furniture market. As per the fire department, a total of three small lines of 12 motor pumps were in operation. However, it is yet to be ascertained what caused the fire.
