A major fire reportedly broke out in a furniture store in Narayanavalasu, Erode city of Tamil Nadu due to a short circuit. Located on the Erode-Narayanavalasu state highway, the fire destroyed materials worth Rs 50 lakh.
Around 11pm on Friday, when the store was closed, reports suggest that locals spotted thick smoke originating from within the store and alerted the store owner M Senthil Kumar. The owner quickly rushed to the store and informed the fire and rescue personnel as well.
The fire was put out after four hours. The fire quickly spread across the store and destroyed several pieces of furniture including sofas, beds, etc.
