Slovenia-based design firm Rimarket introduces the Froc high chair, a versatile piece made from sustainable wood, designed to cater to toddlers and children’s needs. The high chair seamlessly blends visually appealing aesthetics with functional design, boasting both natural strength and durability, coupled with intelligent features that ensure superior stability. Know more about it on FURNITURE DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY (FDT).
Founded by Matej Kosir, a passionate parent himself, Rimarket embarked on creating the Froc high chair after the birth of his son. The inspiration arose from the challenge he and his wife faced in finding a high chair that could adapt as their child grew. To address this gap in the market, they collaborated with the design agency Gigodesign to develop a wooden chair that not only met this criterion but also embraced sustainable practices.
Crafted entirely from locally sourced warm beech wood, this environmentally conscious piece of furniture embodies an organic minimalistic design that promises years of safe, user-friendly and worry-free use. Its revolutionary one-legged construction, reinforced with steel, along with four extensions and intelligent weight distribution, ensures exceptional stability. The Froc chair is designed with a central leg to maximize stability. The solid leg, combined with four extensions, maintains the centre of gravity at the core, guaranteeing impeccable stability.
The Froc high chair is ingeniously adjustable, growing alongside the child from 6 months to 10 years. Its adaptability is achieved through a straightforward three-step process that allows for easy rearrangement of the backrest position, seat and footrest height. With the ability to raise the seating position up to 68cm (27 inches) and a movable footrest that ensures ergonomic leg positioning as the child grows, the chair offers optimal comfort.
Combining practicality with a smart design aesthetic, this Froc high chair is perfect for small spaces. Moreover, it can be fully customized to seamlessly integrate into any interior design scheme, making it a versatile and stylish addition to any home.
