Eero Aarnio Originals Unveils a Maple Wood Sculptural Masterpiece | Parabel Table
FDT Bureau
Initially created by Finnish designer Eero Aarnio in 1993, the renowned Helsinki-based manufacturer Eero Aarnio Originals introduced the Parabel table, a sculptural masterpiece crafted from maple wood. The Parabel side table is designed not only to serve its functional purpose but also to imbue any space with a touch of elegance and sophistication. Its distinctive feature is the hemispherical segmented tabletop delicately balanced atop an elliptical base. Know more about it on FURNITURE DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY (FDT).
According to Eero Aarnio Originals, the name Parabel evokes thoughts of mathematical forms. However, when one looks at the table, its associations diverge from mathematical sciences, leading instead to the realm of art. The table’s aesthetic qualities make it resemble a sculpture rather than a mere piece of furniture. It has the potential to grace the walls of an art gallery as a stunning exhibit.
Available in two finishes, either a light natural hue or a darker walnut stain, the wooden Parabel table enriches Eero Aarnio Originals’ collection of meticulously crafted reproductions of Aarnio’s designs. Among these reproductions is a larger version of the table crafted from fiberglass.
