KOKUYO to Acquire HNI India to Strengthen Asian Presence, Eyes $3.5 Billion Sales by 2030

Leading Japanese manufacturer of office furniture and stationery, KOKUYO Co Ltd has reportedly signed an agreement to acquire HNI Office India, the Indian arm of HNI Corporation. This strategic move signifies KOKUYO’s continued commitment to expanding its footprint in the Indian market and plays a key role in its long-term vision of achieving USD 3.5 billion in net sales by 2030. Listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, KOKUYO has a strong legacy in the office furniture and business stationery segments. The company employs over 7,600 people and has a well-established presence in Asia, including India, where it has been active for more than a decade through KOKUYO Camlin, a popular stationery brand. This latest acquisition deepens the company’s roots in the region and promises a renewed focus on India’s growing commercial interiors market.
