HOW HAS THE LIGHTING INDUSTRY EVOLVED OVER THE YEARS?
Amit Bhattacharjee: A decade ago, lighting was merely a functional element. Today, it’s more about design and artistry. People are increasingly looking for lighting that not only serves its purpose but also adds to the ambiance of the space. Architects and interior designers are now using lighting as a piece of art. We cater to this shift in demand, offering solutions that combine both functionality and aesthetic value.

YOU MENTIONED THE GROWING DEMAND FOR CUSTOMIZED LIGHTING. COULD YOU ELABORATE ON THIS TREND?
Amit Bhattacharjee: Customized lighting is a major trend, particularly in residential areas. People want unique lighting solutions that reflect their personal style and the ambiance they want to create in their spaces. It’s a complex process that starts with understanding the client’s vision and working through the design, production, and delivery stages. While it comes with its challenges, customized lighting is high in demand and is quickly gaining a larger share of the market.
WHAT ARE THE KEY MATERIALS USED IN YOUR LIGHTING SOLUTIONS?
Amit Bhattacharjee: We primarily use mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Stainless steel is ideal for coastal areas because it’s rust-resistant. Mild steel is more durable and is used in non-coastal areas, while aluminum is favored for its lightweight properties. We guide our clients in choosing the best material based on their specific needs and the environment their lighting will be placed in.

HOW DO YOU FORESEE THE FUTURE OF CUSTOMIZED LIGHTING IN INDIA?
Amit Bhattacharjee: The transition to customized lighting is happening faster than expected. People are moving away from contemporary lighting towards bespoke solutions. This shift is not only exciting for the industry but also for us as a provider. We are constantly innovating and updating our designs, ensuring that our clients get the most creative and high-quality lighting products. The demand for customized lighting is growing, and we are fully equipped to meet that demand.

HOW DOES TECHNOLOGY PLAY A ROLE IN THE LIGHTING SOLUTIONS YOU OFFER?
Amit Bhattacharjee: We are exploring virtual sessions where clients can visualize how different lighting products will look in their spaces. This allows them to make informed decisions before making a purchase. We also use advanced materials and cutting-edge techniques to ensure that the lighting solutions we offer are both innovative and functional.
YOU MENTIONED IMPORTING CERTAIN ITEMS. COULD YOU TELL US MORE ABOUT THAT?
Amit Bhattacharjee: Some components, such as high-quality crystals, need to be imported because they require specialized machinery and craftsmanship. We pay great attention to the quality and precision of these materials to ensure that the final product meets our high standards. We also regularly update our designs every six months to stay ahead of trends and keep our offerings fresh.

WHAT IS YOUR FEEDBACK ON FURNITURE DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY (FDT) MAGAZINE?
Amit Bhattacharjee: FDT is a great platform for brands and businesses, especially startups, to showcase their offerings. It provides exposure and helps companies like ours reach a wider audience. It’s also an excellent resource for keeping up with trends and innovations in the furniture and lighting industries.
