Furniture Company Set Up Welfare Fund to Help COVID-19 Affected People

Presently, many countries of the world are fighting with the pandemic of coronavirus. At this time of COVID-19 crisis, many social organizations, companies and common people from all over the world are volunteering for help. In this series of social responsibility and help for mankind, the name of a leading London furniture company has also been added. The company has decided to help its employees and people at the time of this pandemic. Company is setting up a fund to help people whose livelihoods have been directly affected due to COVID-19. 

As per the media reports, The City of London livery company and charity, The Furniture Makers’ Company, has set up a welfare fund to COVID-19 affected people. Through this fund, financial assistance to be provided to workers with a grant to cover costs such as essential household items or bills, property repairs, disabled and medical equipment and general financial hardship. 

Dids Macdonald OBE, Master of The Furniture Makers’ Company, said that for over 100 years, our charity has supported the industry and now more than ever we want colleagues working in the trade, from shop staff, production workers, designers, designer-makers, interior designers, sales staff and everyone in between, to know that we are ready to help them and it is easy to apply, said in media reports.

As per the latest report of NHS England released the figures of deaths of coronavirus patients at London hospitals, sadly total deaths in London has risen to 414 till 29^th March. A spokesperson for NHS England said: "A further 190 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in England to 1,125 so far. 

At the time of COVID-19 crisis, many organizations, companies and people are volunteering for help to affected people.
