Haworth, the US-based global furniture giant, is expanding its presence in India to take advantage of its growing market. With an investment of approximately USD 10 million, the company is establishing its second factory in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu adjacent to its existing facility, effectively doubling its production space to 113,000sqft.
Reportedly, the expanded facility will manufacture key products such as Zody, Fern, Aloha, HAT, Intuity, Riverbend, IQ commercial, Pebble, Tibas, Shift and Poppy and Cabana to meet the rising demand for premium workspace solutions in India. Additionally, the factory will export furniture and components to North America and Europe, supplementing its local market focus.
India, now Haworth’s third-largest market globally after the US and France, underscores the company’s strategic shift in focus. Haworth also inaugurated a new 26,000sqft showroom in Chennai, showcasing its products and workspace concepts. As per reports, the company is also in plans to expand into Tier-II cities like Coimbatore, Ahmedabad, Indore and Bengaluru to cater to the evolving needs of IT companies establishing offices in these regions.
