This Pearl Chandelier, with 20 Oyster-Inspired Sconces, Creates a Sophisticated Ceiling Necklace

FDT Bureau

Pearls might not be the first thing that come to mind when one sees the Pearl Chandelier by Waxy Design Studio, yet the chandelier artfully integrates a unique aesthetic rooted in its original inspiration. This innovative lighting fixture features multiple light elements arranged in a circular formation, evoking a sense of jewelry adorning the ceiling. Know more about it on FURNITURE DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY (FDT).

Each metal cone or sconce encases a pearl-shaped light bulb, transforming the chandelier into a necklace-like piece for the ceiling. The metal sconces, reminiscent of oysters, offer a glimpse of the pearls inside, creating a sense of mystery and elegance. The Pearl Chandelier is available in two styles: white and black. Both styles feature an interplay with the golden metal colour on the interior and the golden frame itself. Each chandelier comprises precisely 20 sconces or lighting elements, crafted from curved metal sheets.

The light bulbs are nestled within these sheets, shining through the openings in the folds. This design concept, while abstractly representing oysters, focuses light both downward and upward, effectively scattering illumination in a functional and aesthetically pleasing manner. The 20 sconces come together in a design that resembles a sophisticated necklace.

The Pearl Chandelier showcases meticulous attention to detail, with seamless integration of the pearls and metal components. Advanced production techniques ensure the structural integrity of the piece while allowing for delicate light diffusion through the pearl-shaped bulbs. This careful craftsmanship results in a captivating play of light and shadow, inviting viewers to appreciate the fixture from multiple perspectives.
