Godrej Interio Targets 18% Share in Education Sector with Innovative, Ergonomic Furniture

Godrej Interio, a premier name in the realm of home and office furniture and a subsidiary of Godrej & Boyce within the Godrej Enterprises Group, is embarking on a substantial expansion into the Indian education sector. The company is reportedly set to introduce a series of innovative and tailored furniture solutions aimed at enhancing learning environments across a broad spectrum of educational institutions, including both private and government entities. Emphasizing ergonomic design, technological integration and sustainability, Godrej Interio has set an ambitious target of capturing an 18 per cent market share in the educational furniture segment by the fiscal year 2025. Their new product lineup is crafted to meet the evolving demands of contemporary classrooms, offering versatile, durable and practical furniture solutions that accommodate various teaching methodologies, ranging from traditional lectures to interactive and digital learning formats.

In a statement regarding this expansion, Sameer Joshi, Senior Vice President (B2B) at Godrej Interio, highlighted the transformative potential of education and the vital role of the learning environment in shaping educational experiences. He emphasized that Godrej Interio’s commitment to innovation and quality drives their efforts to create adaptable, inviting, smart and comfortable learning spaces. By incorporating technology and ergonomic principles into their furniture designs, the company aims to support educators and students in developing dynamic, engaging and efficient learning environments. These environments are designed to be flexible, catering to various teaching methods and learning styles, ensuring that students experience a welcoming and secure atmosphere with cutting-edge, comfortable furniture.

Godrej Interio’s educational furniture and solutions are tailored to meet the needs of modern classrooms, offering a range of sizes to ensure ergonomic comfort for students of all ages. Recent research reveals that 79 per cent of students prefer the ability to rearrange furniture to fit individual and group needs, while 94 per cent of teachers who can modify classroom layouts find it enhances their teaching effectiveness.

The brand has actively partnered with several state governments, including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa and Jammu and Kashmir, to improve the quality of educational infrastructure. In fiscal year 2023 alone, Godrej Interio successfully supplied nearly 200,000 school furniture units through these collaborations.
