Masiero’s latest addition to the Dimore catalog is the Visio collection, a collaboration between Nava + Arosio and the company. Drawing inspiration from the human face, this flexible and versatile lighting solution is designed to suit various environments, including retail, homes, and contract spaces. Here is a detailed report on FURNITURE DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY (FDT).
Created by the young design duo Nava + Arosio, the Visio collection showcases surrealist elements and offers multiple configurations of facial geometries, allowing for layers of meaning to be discovered. Paying homage to the expressive nature of the face, the collection captures the iconographic apparatus associated with it.
Crafted with polished chocolate-coloured painted metal tubing, the collection features curved shapes that form complete faces or compositions of facial features such as mouths, noses, ears and eyes. These elements can be presented as suspensions or wall compositions. Blending mysticism and geometry, the Visio collection offers unpredictable variations on the theme of imagination.
Visio represents the synthesis of a sign that allows for infinite interpretations of physiognomies in space, whether they are realistic or surrealistic. The name, chosen in collaboration with Masiero, is derived from Latin and signifies sight - appearance - spectacle, encompassing the characteristics embodied by this remarkable lamp.
