Biesse Showcases India’s Manufacturing Prowess at Inside Biesse 2024

Biesse, a global leader in the manufacturing of integrated machinery for processing wood, glass, stone, plastic and composite materials, recently hosted its flagship event, Inside Biesse 2024, from August 8 to 10 at the Biesse Bengaluru Showroom. The event attracted a wide range of industry professionals, including woodworking enthusiasts and furniture manufacturers, offering them an exclusive opportunity to explore Biesse’s latest technological advancements. Here is a detailed report on FURNITURE DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY (FDT).

The event began with an inauguration ceremony attended by esteemed guests like Mr Narsi D Kularia, Managing Director of NARSI Group; and Mr Jagdish Kularia Director of NARSI Group. Mr Souma Ray, Director of Sales & Business Development at Biesse, welcomed the attendees, followed by a keynote speech from Mr Narsi D Kularia. A traditional Bharatanatyam dance performance added a cultural touch to the opening day. Expressing his contentment, Mr Narsi remarked, “Coming from a carpentry background, I’ve witnessed the transition from hand-crafted furniture to the precision of modern machines, a revolution that has provided a significant impetus to the Indian furniture industry. Mr Chintan Parekh, Joint Secretary of AFMT, served as the keynote speaker, providing expert insights during the session titled Awareness Session on Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Prominent industry leaders, including Mr Gopal Dwivedi from LIVSPACE, delivered an insightful session titled Multi-Materiality: Trends & Innovations in Modern Materials. Mr Rahul Mehta from FFSC shared his expert opinion on Why PowerOfCollaboration is Essential to Harness the PowerOfSkills. Additionally, a panel discussion was conducted on Mechanisation in Furniture Manufacturing & Challenges in the Furniture Industry, which was moderated by Mr Dhanesh Bhatia, Member (AFMT) and presided over by eminent industry leaders and panellists like Mr Jagdish Kularia (NARSI Group); Mr Dhiren Gopal (Featherlite); Mr Huzefa Samplewala (AFMT); Mr Rahul Mehta (FFSC); and Mr Souma Ray (Biesse India) .

Inside Biesse 2024 underscored Biesse’s dedication to innovation and excellence in manufacturing, extending beyond the woodworking industry to serve various sectors with its multi-material solutions. A standout moment of the event was the introduction of Biesse’s latest edge banding machines, the Akron 1300 and Akron 1400. These cutting-edge machines, proudly manufactured in India, are equipped with advanced automation features and were highly praised by attendees, reflecting Biesse's commitment to delivering high-quality, globally competitive products. The event featured advanced technologies such as 5-axis CNC machining, nesting, edge banding, cutting, sizing and drilling. The event also featured live demonstrations of advanced machinery, including the Rover-J CNC machine, which played a significant role in crafting intricate carvings for the new Indian Parliament building. Additionally, the event marked the launch of the Bangalore chapter of the Association of Furniture Manufacturers & Traders (AFMT), emphasizing Biesse’s commitment to elevating industry standards.
