A fire erupted in a furniture warehouse located in Mumbai’s western suburbs, Goregaon, on Thursday. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported from the incident. According to reports, the disaster cell of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the fire originated on the ground floor of the Cintex City building.
As per civic officials, the fire was contained within 15 storage rooms on the ground floor, spanning an area of 2,000 sqft. As per the official statement, due to the presence of wooden materials, polish, and chemicals throughout the floor, the fire rapidly intensified and spread. Additionally, combustible items like electrical appliances and scrap further fueled the flames. The fire was first reported at approximately 3:17 pm and escalated to level 2 around 3:55 pm.
Eight fire engines and seven jumbo tankers were reportedly deployed by the fire brigade, successfully bringing the blaze under control by around 6 pm.
