These days, high-end furniture is not all about wood but a mélange of several materials. For instance, various metals such as bronze, brass, copper, stainless steel, aluminium, cast iron and others are customarily fused with wood to manufacture innovative luxe furniture. These are good for making furniture and creating essential components such as knobs, handles, hinges, keyhole frames and decorative elements.
So, designers are inclined toward mixing various materials in wood to give it more stylish and elegant look. “Wood is a natural product hence it has options for innovations. For luxury furniture, we prefer using wood for its timeless factor infused with metal inserts, he further informs. Widely practiced are open pore finishes on veneer or a 3D effect with CNC router on wood. It is used for side tables, coffee tables, bed posters, or as accent material. Apart from this, lot of technique innovations like inlays, marketery, joineries, etc. are being explored.
